William L. Connelly — a philosopher working in Paris and Atlanta. The Institute grew out of the research infrastructure he built for his own scholarship, once it became clear that the instrument could observe a great deal more than one scholar’s reading.
The Institute is assembling its founding board. It is looking for people with standing in the humanities on either side of the Atlantic, scholars, editors, publishers, librarians, and those who have run the institutions through which humanistic work is received, who share the conviction that the intellectual life of the humanities deserves to be observed with the same seriousness as any other thing we claim to care about.
